In my opinion probably one of the most under appreciated cars of its era. The Lincoln Mark III had it all wrapped in a personal luxury car. The car cost nearly $10k new and was definitely one of the top sellers in the luxury car market in 1971. What people do not realize, this car had as much power as it did looks and luxury. The 460 Big Block V8 produced 365 hp. which was as much horsepower if not more than some of the most iconic muscle cars in the same era and yet had probably the most torque of any car ever produced at a rating of 500 ft lbs. Yet it quietly floated down the road with the best of the best in the luxury car market both foreign and domestic. Please read on to learn more about the Mark offered here today for sale. There will be a detailed description along with MANY photos and a video at the bottom. Thank you for viewing.

Exterior:

The exterior of the car is basically as original as possible. There are parking lot scuffs and dings along with scratches and blemishes. There looks as though some paint work may have been done on the front fenders and some spots on the hood as well. To make the car flawless a paint job would be needed. The exterior was wet sanded, touched up and compounded and polished and shows great luster for a 50 year old factory paint. The vinyl top is original and in excellent original condition with no rips, or rust bubbles. 1 minor ding on roof(see pics). The chrome is still brilliant and all the brightwork is gorgeous. The glass is clear and original and free of any damage or chips. All lights work as they should and headlights do remain down for awhile before they start creeping up. The body lines are straight. There is no rot on the car and the floors and frame are solid and original. The underneath received a good cleaning and detail. Please let me know of any questions you may have.

Interior:

The interior is all original and absolutely flawless for being 50 years old. It literally looks like no one has ever sat in it. There are no cracks, blemishes, rips or flaws. The carpet is plush and it has maintained it deep burgundy color. The rear two window do not work, not sure if the its the switch or the motors. The power seats operate well and all gauges work properly. The radio makes no sound. A/C works but the heater core was bypassed(assuming it will need a heater core) . Please view the photos and let me know of any questions you may have.

Drive-Train:

The 460/4V V8 runs excellent. Smooth and quiet yet very powerful. The carburetor was rebuilt by the previous owner along with a tune up. The brakes were gone through to make sure it was safe for driving. The engine compartment was detailed along with a complete decal package from Lincoln Land. The transmission shifts great, and the tires are brand new (Cost of $1000). Some of the exhaust is original and is in need of replacement but still is intact. Let me know of any questions you may have.

In Summation:

If you're in to Lincolns this would be a great car to add to the collection or even enter the hobby with. There is only tinkering left to do on the car which will make it a great cruiser/show car as you continue to enhance it to your desire. The previous owner already did most of the leg work. Cleaned tank, fresh gas, rebuilt the carburetor, tuned it up and made sure brakes were cleaned adjusted and made safe. It is a very rare color combo as the Marti Report shows 1 of 134 produced with the paint and trim codes.
