Description

Vehicle Specs

1940 Ford Steel Body Hot Rod. 383 Stoker V8 & turbo 350 automatic transmission. A high flat-topped hood was all the rage of this era and was very predominant of the 1940 model, as the grille spread out to reach the fenders. The standard Ford continued to use the grille of the 1939 model with blackout on each side of the chrome center and bolder headlight surrounds were another tell tale of the changes made from its predecessor. 1940 was the last year of the 1937 design and its smaller V8 engine, with an inline six cylinder to be put back into production the following year. The 1937-1940 generation of Fords is one of the most popular automobiles for making custom hot rods out of and that still stands true to this day. Early stock car drivers also used Fords of this era as one of the most recognized racers amongst all other models. This Ford was also the most recognizable design and style assimilated to dirt track racing. A rich history that has carried through the generations, not many vehicles have the same desire as these do after 70+ years.

We are pleased to present this customized version of the 1940 Ford Coupe for your consideration. With a history showing it built about 15-20rs ago in NY, this vehicle was kept well mechanically and still stands true today! Featuring a great deal of customization from the frenched with remote door poppers, Mercedes E series headlights, Ford Mustang hood vents, tear drop taillights and remote trunk. This vehicle hosts crank windows which are fully functioning, a power antenna which works well, A/C system had a leak in the lines and new lines are included but a/c will need service. Custom digital cluster covered in tweed from door to door looks excellent with its dakota digital gauges and its aftermarket AM/FM/CD media center offers its next owner a broader choice of music in this pre-war classic! The paint and interior were completed many years ago and show age but overall has held together well with all the functionality still intact. The trunk pops with a push of a button which gives you access to the battery, its chrome tipped exhaust sounds as good as it looks, the valve covers are 383 stroker covers and overall this reliable ride is ready to see the road and be enjoyed by its next owners.
