Completed approximately five years ago and driven more than 5,000 carefree miles since, it has been thoroughly sorted through real-world use rather than assembled only for display. With its all-steel construction, proven small-block Chevrolet power, custom chassis, cold air conditioning, and detailed craftsmanship, this is a rare high-end build designed to be driven.

The rust- and dent-free Chevrolet cab, bed, fenders, running boards, and surrounding bodywork are all steel, an important feature on a custom C.O.E. The front fenders were modified using 1940 Chevrolet wheel openings, while custom steel splash aprons and a fabricated rear roll pan help give the truck a smooth, cohesive appearance. New steel running boards complete the bodywork.

Finished in 2000 Volkswagen Tornado Red using a base coat and clear coat system, the exterior has the bold presentation this truck deserves. Bronze-tinted glass, Bear Claw door latches, and all-LED lighting add modern convenience while preserving its prewar character. American Racing chrome steel wheels are fitted with 215/55R16 front tires and 235/60R17 rear tires, giving the truck a balanced stance.

Unlike many oversized cabover builds, this Chevrolet was specifically designed to fit through a standard residential garage door and onto a standard four-post lift. That is a rare and very practical feature for a custom C.O.E., making storage and maintenance much easier for its next owner.

The custom three-quarter-ton bed is finished with a floor constructed from 15-year-seasoned red oak and stainless steel skid strips. It is functional enough to use while detailed enough to display proudly at shows.

Power comes from a 1986 Chevrolet 350 cubic-inch V8 that reportedly had approximately 33,000 miles when installed. It is backed by a durable Turbo 400 automatic transmission, creating a proven drivetrain combination known for strength and reliability. Flowmaster 40 Series mufflers and an aluminized dual exhaust system give the truck a deep V8 tone without making it uncomfortable during longer drives.

Cooling was engineered with regular use in mind. A Walker big-block radiator, high-flow water pump, and electric cooling fan help control engine temperatures, while a Vintage Air climate system provides ice-cold air conditioning inside the cab.

The chassis was extensively modified to provide improved steering, braking, and road manners. The front section is based on a 1990 Dodge Dakota chassis shortened by 31 inches, while Ford F-250 rear frame rails were incorporated into the structure. A rebuilt 1977 Ford Maverick 8-inch rear end handles power delivery. Front and rear sway bars improve stability, and the front suspension was rebuilt with new coil springs, ball joints, tie-rod ends, rotors, bearings, and a new power steering rack. Power front disc brakes provide confident stopping performance.

Inside, the cab combines classic styling with modern comfort. A Flaming River tilt steering column, power windows, delayed electric wipers, VDO gauges, and a four-speaker stereo system make the truck comfortable and easy to operate. A Haywire wiring harness provides a dependable electrical foundation for the numerous accessories.

Build receipts, construction photographs, and trophies are included, helping document the time, quality, and expense invested into the project. That paperwork is especially valuable on a custom vehicle, allowing the next owner to understand how the truck was built and what components were used.
