Vehicle Specs

This stunning 1954 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Truck represents the perfect blend of classic postwar Americana and tasteful modern upgrades, making it one of the finest examples on the market today. Benefiting from a meticulous frame-off restoration completed in 2017, this truck is not only a visual showstopper but also a capable cruiser thanks to thoughtful mechanical enhancements throughout. It's no surprise this example is an AAA National Award Winner, a testament to the quality and attention to detail lavished on this build.

Finished in Butternut Yellow base/clear, the exterior gleams with a rich, period-correct warmth that has been wet sanded and buffed to a show-quality finish. Every inch of exterior brightwork has either been rechromed or replaced, and the glass is all new and lightly tinted. The body lines are clean, the stance is perfect thanks to 4-inch lowering springs, and the overall presence is enhanced by the side-mounted spare tire and a beautifully refinished oak bed with stainless steel rails. All new weatherstripping and window felts were installed during the restoration, ensuring a tight, rattle-free driving experience.

Under the hood lies a rebuilt 235ci Thriftmaster inline-six, outfitted with a mild cam and upgraded for performance with a rare Offenhauser dual-carburetor intake and a Fenton split exhaust header feeding a true 2.5” dual exhaust system. The powerplant is mated to a T5 5-speed manual overdrive transmission, providing improved cruising manners, fuel efficiency, and driving enjoyment over the stock setup. A Hurst shifter delivers precise gear changes, while the updated rear axle with 3.31 gears makes highway travel a breeze. Additional mechanical highlights include an external oil filter and oil cooler, 12-volt electrical conversion with a 1-wire alternator, and a new Painless wiring harness. Cooling is handled by a polished aluminum radiator, and the entire suspension and steering systems were replaced during the restoration for worry-free operation.

Inside, the truck is just as exceptional. The cabin features a custom Carmel leather interior that covers the headliner, visors, door panels, and bench seat, providing a warm and upscale feel rarely seen in classic pickups. A new steering column with an integrated blinker stalk adds functionality and safety while blending seamlessly with the vintage aesthetic. Hidden away in the glove box is a modern AM/FM/CD head unit, preserving the dash's clean look while offering upgraded audio. For added comfort and usability, the truck is also fitted with an electric wiper conversion.

The result is a 3100 that not only presents beautifully but performs like a much newer vehicle, making it ideal for both showing and driving. This truck checks every box—looks, power, comfort, and quality craftsmanship—and it's sure to draw admiration wherever it goes.

Whether you're looking for a classic truck to take to local shows, cruise night events, or simply enjoy on the open road, this 1954 Chevrolet 3100 is the one you've been waiting for. A true must-see and must-drive, this is classic truck ownership at its finest.
