This 1937 Ford Pickup Restomod is a stunning blend of vintage craftsmanship and modern performance, meticulously restored and thoughtfully upgraded for the enthusiast who appreciates timeless design paired with contemporary drivability. The product of a complete body-off repair, refinish, and repaint in 2016, this all-steel classic retains its original charm while boasting an impressive list of custom touches and mechanical enhancements that make it a standout both on the road and at any show.
The truck's all-steel body, fenders, running boards, and bed remain true to its original form, offering the unmistakable silhouette and art-deco styling that define the pre-war Ford pickups. Finished in a beautifully applied custom paint job during its 2016 restoration, the body is laser-straight, while a custom wood pickup bed adds a touch of handcrafted elegance to the rear. All of it sits atop a custom frame and chassis, built to handle modern power and provide a refined ride.
Beneath the hood is a brand-new ATK HP99C 350CI Vortec crate engine, producing 290 horsepower and 375 lb-ft of torque. Installed just days ago on April 30, 2025, with receipts included, this engine features an OE roller block, hypereutectic pistons, moly rings, a hydraulic roller camshaft, and Vortec cast iron heads. Additional specs include a 9.4:1 compression ratio, 5.7” powder metal rods, a dual-plane intake manifold, and a Quick Fuel 670 CFM carburetor with electric choke, ensuring strong performance and crisp throttle response. The ignition is handled by a PowerFire electronic HEI distributor, and fuel delivery is supported by a Summit Racing fuel pump. A Thrush exhaust system gives this pickup the perfect growl to match its street-ready attitude.
Backing the engine is a Transgo 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive, built with Borg Warner clutches for durability and smooth shifting. A Cobra Coolmate radiator, braided stainless hoses, and OE long water pump ensure the powertrain stays cool and reliable even during extended drives.
The ride quality and handling are light years ahead of anything from 1937 thanks to the Heidts Superride II front suspension and power steering system, giving this truck a composed, modern feel behind the wheel. Newly installed 16-inch rims round out the stance, giving the truck a custom yet period-appropriate appearance.
Inside, the modern upgrades continue with Speedhut dual GPS tachometer and speedometer, as well as matching Speedhut temp, fuel, and voltage gauges, giving the driver accurate and reliable feedback. The truck is prepped for climate comfort with an A/C compressor installed, though no other A/C components are currently included, allowing the next owner to finish the setup to their liking.
Safety and practicality upgrades include quartz halogen headlights and tail lights with integrated turn signals, while the entire truck has been wired with a Summit Racing harness for electrical reliability. The manuals, paperwork, and a full folder of build receipts document the care, expense, and craftsmanship poured into this build.
This 1937 Ford Pickup is the ultimate combination of vintage style and modern engineering. Whether cruising to your favorite car show, touring the countryside, or simply enjoying a high-quality custom build, this restomod delivers performance, dependability, and a jaw-dropping appearance that few classic trucks can match. It's a turn-key showpiece with fresh power, proven components, and timeless Ford styling—ready for the road, ready for the spotlight, and ready for a new owner to enjoy.
